LA CROSSE, Wisconsin - Wilmington College men's track & field senior Pierce Burnam advanced to the finals of the 400-meter hurdles on the first day of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Thursday.
Burnam was seeded eighth in the event, but broke his own school record with a time of 52.14 seconds. He will head to the finals of the event on Saturday seeded second.
Fellow senior Antone Truss will compete in the finals in the high jump tomorrow (Friday).
