WILMINGTON, Ohio – Wilmington College men's track & field seniors Pierce Burnam and Antone Truss are scheduled to compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on May 24-26.
The Schedule: The championships will take place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of this week. The preliminaries of the 400-meter hurdles will take place on Thursday with the finals of the high jump on Friday. The finals of the 400-meter hurdles will commence on Saturday should Burnam qualify. The Individuals: Pierce Burnam and Antone Truss. Burnam is seeded eighth in the 400-meter hurdles after setting the program record (52.43 seconds) at the Great Lakes Final Qualifying Meet hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on May 17. Truss is seeded sixth in the high jump (2.10 meters or 6' 10 3/4") after nearly breaking the All-Ohio Meet record on April 14.
The Coach: Wilmington alumnus Ron Combs is in his 20ths season as the College's head track & field coach. Burnam and Truss are Combs' 211th and 212th participants in nationals' competition.
