Men's Track and Field to Compete at All-Ohio Championships

WILMINGTON, Ohio- The Wilmington College men's outdoor track and field team heads to the All-Ohio Outdoor Track and Field Championship hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on Saturday, April 14. Competition is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 17th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

WC Student-Athletes to Watch: The Quakers are coming off of a second-place finish at the Jenna Strong Invitational. The throwers are leading the charge, Kalvin Butts having finished first in both the discus and hammer throw. He is backed by teammates Joe Holcomb and Joe Shuga. Antone Truss leads the team in the jumps, while Pierce Burnam leads the team on the track, playing an integral role in both the hurdling events, as well as the relays.
