Men's Track and Field Travels to Indoor All-Ohio

WILMINGTON, Ohio- The Wilmington College men's indoor track and field team will travel to Otterbein University to compete in the Indoor All-Ohio Track and Field Championship Meet on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) host Otterbein University and other collegiate teams from Ohio.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 17th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

WC Student-Athletes to Watch: Coming off a successful weekend are throwers Kalvin Butts and Joe Holcomb. Butts will look to continue his reign over the weight throw, while Holcomb will hope to hold his ground in the shot put. Pierce Burnam also found success at last weekend's meet and will look to keep that momentum in the 60-meter hurdles at this weekend's competition. In the distance events, Cameron Phelps will lead the charge for the Quakers, coming off of a ninth-place finish last week in the 3000-meter run.
