Men's Track and Field Heads to Cedarville Invitational

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's track and field team will travel to Cedarville University Friday at 3 p.m. to participate in the Cedarville Invitational.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by host Cedarville University and Shawnee State, Oberlin College, Tennessee Wesleyan, University of Findlay, Georgetown College, the University of Cincinnati Running Club, Brick City, Home Street, Greendale, and Berea College.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 17th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

WC Student-Athletes to Watch: Kalvin Butts goes into the meet seeded first-by over a meter-in the weight throw and will look to out throw the competition. Pierce Burnam sits fourth in both the triple jump and the 60-meter hurdles. In the shot put, Joe Holcomb is ranked second. Holcomb is also seeded seventh in the weight throw.
