WILMINGTON, Ohio- The Wilmington College men's indoor track and field team will travel to Capital University to compete in the Jessica Starks Open on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington will be joined by Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) host Capital University and non-conference teams from Earlham College, Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Ohio Dominican University, Thiel College, Cedarville University, Transylvania University, and the University of Rio Grande.

The Coach: Ron Combs enters his 17th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's track and field teams. Combs has been named Coach of the Year, twice by the Heartland Athletic Conference, and once by the OAC. In 2002, he led the men's indoor team to a sixth-place finish at NCAA DIII Championships.

WC Student-Athletes to Watch: AJ Hightower and Pierce Burnam have been leading the way for the Fightin' Quakers. Hightower placed first at the OAC Split meet last weekend in both the 200-meter dash and the long jump. He also played an integral role in the 4-x-200-meter relay and the 4-x-400-meter relay. Pierce Burnam has been blowing the competition away in the triple jump, as well as the 400-meter dash. Distance runners Cameron Erwin and Cameron Phelps are coming off of a successful weekend and will look to break the tape ahead of their respective fields. Kalvin Butts will lead the charge in the throwing events for the team.
