@DubC_XCTR men on leaderboard after day one

NEW CONCORD- The Wilmington College men's outdoor track and field team opened the two-day Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship meet on Friday afternoon. At the conclusion of the day's scored events the Fightin' Quakers sit in tenth-place with three points.


Junior Alex Tillapaugh (Wilmington, OH/Wickenburg) was the lone Fightin' Quaker to score in today's individual events. Tillapaugh earned eighth, and was awarded one point, with his toss of 46.76-meters in the finals of the javelin throw.


The remaining two points were scored by the team of: juniors Hunter Stith (Batavia, OH/Batavia) and Griffin Stith (Batavia, OH/Batavia), freshmen Jeff Clydesdale (Circleville, OH/Logan Elm) and Gage Egner (Blanchester, OH/Blanchester), and sophomore Matthew Baker (Liberty Center, OH/Liberty Center) who joined together for a 3200-meter relay. The quintet earned seventh-place with a time of 8:16.74.


In the preliminaries that were contested today for events whose finals will be contested tomorrow, only two Fightin' Quakers were in the top-eight of their respective events. Junior Pierce Burnam (New Richmond, OH/New Richmond) will go into tomorrow seeded seventh in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 15.58 and freshman Kaner Butler (Yellow Springs, OH/Yellow Springs) currently sits seventh in the 400-meter hurdles from his preliminary time of 55.86.

 

The Fightin' Quakers head back to the track to conlclude OAC Championships 10am tomorrow.
