@DubC_XCTR men open indoor season at Tiffin

 

TIFFIN- The Wilmington College men's track and field team opened their indoor season at the Tiffin Alumni Open on Saturday. This unscored meet allowed the team to compete, not only against fellow NCAA Division III and OAC schools, but also several NCAA Division II schools, and various unattached athletes.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Fightin' Quakers opened the meet, and their season, with a bang by finishing first in the men's 4000m Distance Medley Relay with a time of 11:47.46.

  • Junior Pierce Burnam (New Richmond, OH/New Richmond) finished eighth in the men's 60-meter hurdles prelims with a time of 8.70. His finish qualified him for finals in the event, where he duplicated his prelims time, but bettered his standing, finishing seventh.

  • Freshman Jeff Clydesdale (Circleville, OH/Logan Elm) secured fifth-place in the men's 1000-meter race with his time of 2:47.12.

  • Junior Antone Truss (Yellow Springs, OH/Yellow Springs)rounded out the high finishes for Wilmington. Truss earned another fifth-place finish for the Fightin' Quakers, his in the men's high jump with a height of 1.93 meters.

WHAT'S NEXT

  • The Fightin' Quakers return to competition 11 AM January 14 with an invitational at Otterbein University.
