John Carroll Defeats Men's Swimming

RESULTS

WILMINGTON, Ohio - John Carroll University defeated the Wilmington College men's swimming team 163-42 in an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) dual meet on Saturday afternoon. It was the final dual of the season for the Quakers, who will begin tapering for the OAC Championships.

In individual events, Caden Traggiai recorded two top-three finishes with a runner-up swim of 10:44.33 in the 1,000-yard freestyle and a third-place mark of 5:11.21 in the 500-yard freestyle. The Quakers had two of the top three placers in the 100-yard IM as John Good place second (56.48 seconds) and Michael Phillippe took third (57.58 seconds). Sondre Haugen and Cameron Bolen rounded out WC's top-three placements as Haugen swum the 200-yard freestyle in 1:48.84 and Bolen touched the wall in 1:02.70 of the 100-yard breaststroke.

One Wilmington relay - the 200-yard freestyle relay - turned in a third-place finish as Haugen, Good, Austin Reed and Bolen finished the event in 1:30.70.

"The team as a whole was up and down today," Head Coach Trip Breen said. "Everyone has put in some quality training this year."

The aforementioned OAC Championships will take place from Feb. 15-18 at the University of Akron's Ocasek Natatorium.
