Men's Swimming Heads to Ohio Northern for Dual Meet Friday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's swimming team travels to Ohio Northern University (ONU) for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) dual meet at 7 p.m. on Friday.

The Teams: Wilmington and ONU. The Fightin' Quakers opened up their 2018 season with a close dual meet loss to Baldwin Wallace University last Saturday. The Polar Bears finished second at the Kenyon College Relays last Friday.

The Coaches: Trip Breen is in his 20th season as the head coach of Wilmington's men's and women's swimming teams. Breen has been named Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Men's Coach of the Year four times, the most recent in the 2016-17 season. Austin Veltman, a graduate of Hope College, is in his first season as ONU's head swimming and diving coach.

Who to Watch: Logan Schroer headlined the Fightin' Quakers' performance against Baldwin Wallace by winning the 50-meter and 100-meter freestyle events. Frederick Rankin (100-meter IM), Isak Alin (200-meter freestyle and 100-meter breaststroke) and Lawrence Daya (100-meter backstroke) recorded runner-up finishes in events.
