WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's swimming team opened up its 2018-19 season with a 121-83 loss to Baldwin Wallace University in a dual meet held at the Wilmington Natatorium on Saturday afternoon.

"We have a young team that raced well today," Head Women's Swimming Coach Trip Breen said. "That said, we missed some opportunities and need to work on finishing races."

Logan Schroer headlined the Fightin' Quakers performance individually winning both the 50-meter freestyle (26.14) and 100-meter freestyle (57.49). He was also joined by Lawrence Daya, Frederick Rankin and Isak Alin to finish second in the 200-meter medley relay (1:55.04).

Rankin took second in the 100-meter IM (1:07.79) and third in the 100-meter breaststroke (1:11.47) along with his performance in the relay. Alin finished second in two individual events – the 200-meter freestyle (2:07.54) and the 100-meter breaststroke (1:10.10). Daya, also a member of the relay squad, finished second in the 100-meter backstroke (1:06.92).

"I am very pleased with our team, especially our seniors, for creating an environment for future success," said Breen. "The results aren't what we want yet, but we have an outstanding group that will get better every week."

Wilmington travels to Ohio Northern University for a dual meet on Oct. 26.
