AUSTINTOWN – Wilmington College sophomore swimmer Andrew Stewart was named Ohio Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week, the league announced today (January 16, 2017).
It's the first time in his career Stewart (Wilmington, OH/Clinton-Massie) earned the conference's weekly award and the second time this season a Wilmington swimmer has earned the award. Senior David Spraul was honored for the week ending November 15.
Stewart helped the Fightin' Quakers to a victory over Manchester Saturday with two individual victories and was a part of the winning 200 medley relay team. He claimed first place in the 50-yard freestyle (22.11) and the 100-yard freestyle (48.33). Stewart was joined by David Spraul, Eddie Snowden and Alex Tillapaugh for the 200-medley relay victory.
Wilmington returns home 1 p.m. Saturday, hosting Mount Union at the Wilmington College Natatorium.
