AUSTINTOWN – Wilmington College junior David Spraul was named Ohio Athletic Conference Swimmer of the Week for the week ending November 13, the league announced.

Spraul (Cincinnati, OH/Princeton) tallied three first-place finishes as the Fightin' Quakers defeated Hiram College. He won the 50-meter backstroke (29.14), 100-meter backstroke (1:05.0) and was part of the winning 200-meter free relay team (1:47.8).

"David had a rough start to the season with an injury and has had a long recovery and rehab process," said Wilmington head coach Trip Breen. "He is getting stronger week by week and has now started to train and compete well.  I am proud of him for the work he has done outside of the pool to get to this point.  Congratulations to him for being named OAC Swimmer of the week."

Wilmington returns to the pool Saturday and Sunday at the Ohio Wesleyan Invitational.
