WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's soccer team looks to stop a two-game losing skid on Wednesday when the Fightin' Quakers host Otterbein University for a 7 p.m. Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest.

The Teams: Wilmington and Otterbein. The Quakers are 7-6-0 overall and 2-3-0 in the OAC after dropping a 2-1 contest to Marietta College on Saturday. The Cardinals are 6-5-0 overall and 3-2-0 in the OAC after a 1-0 win at Heidelberg University on Saturday.

The Coaches: Alex Van der Sluijs is in his first year leading Wilmington's men's soccer team. The 2007 alumnus, who was a three-time First Team All-OAC selection and a member of the program's only team to win an OAC title in 2004, worked at Defiance College for seven seasons. Jason Griffiths is in his second season as Otterbein's head coach. The Cardinals advanced to the "Sweet 16" round of the NCAA Division III Tournament is his first year as head coach.

The Players: Niklas Martensson has scored 14 of Wilmington's 30 goals as a team thus far this season. Daniel Kappelin and Benny Spirk have both scored three goals for Wilmington while Leon Tank and Ludwig Lantz have each scored twice. Seven Quakers have netted a single goal. In net, Felix Maurer has allowed 1.83 goals per game. Otterbein features a balanced scoring attack as five Cardinals – Erick Juarez-Manning, Eric Stucky, Kennedy Mensah, Kamal Mohammed and Kohei Adams – have all netted two goals. Collin Hoffman allows just 0.782 goals per contest.

Series History: Wilmington is 12-14-1 against Otterbein in the last three decades. The Cardinals have won the previous three games including a 5-1 triumph at Williams Stadium last season. More information on the series history can be viewed by visiting the link above.
