WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's soccer team hosts the 2018 Kiwanis Classic at Williams Stadium this weekend.

The Schedule: Wilmington will face Kenyon College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday followed by Denison University at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Adrian College (Michigan), the other team in the tournament, plays Denison at 5 p.m. on Friday and Kenyon at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

The Teams: Wilmington, Adrian, Denison and Kenyon. The Fightin' Quakers are 1-1 overall after a 7-0 shutout victory of the University of Cincinnati Clermont College on Tuesday. The Bulldogs won their opening contest of the 2018 season, a 2-1 win at Wittenberg University. The Big Red are 0-2 overall and most recently lost 6-1 at John Carroll University on Sunday. The Lords, ranked No. 22 in the country, are 1-0-1 after a double overtime draw at Carnegie Mellon University.

The Coaches: Alex Van der Sluijs is in his first year leading Wilmington's men's soccer team. The 2007 alumnus, who was a three-time First Team All-OAC selection and a member of the program's only team to win an OAC title in 2004, worked at Defiance College for seven seasons. Ryan McDonald is in his fourth season with the Adrian men's soccer program, but is first as head coach. Rob Russo has been Denison's head coach for two decades while Chris Brown has coached Kenyon for 14 seasons.

The Players: Niklas Martensson, who scored a hat trick in Wilmington's win over UC Clermont on Tuesday, leads the Quakers with three goals and six points this season. Garrett Miller and Dayton Rush have both scored a single goal for Adrian while Leo Herard and David Jaben have scored Denison's goals. Five different Lords have scored goals for Kenyon.

Series History: Wilmington is 11-10-1 against Denison since the 1986 season and is 7-12-0 against Kenyon during that time.
