ADA – The Wilmington College men's soccer team suffered their third straight loss, falling to Thomas More Friday, 2-1, in the first game of the Ohio Northern Invitational.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Thomas More struck four seconds into the game to take the 1-0 lead. The Saints added to its lead in the 14th minute.
• Freshman Adam Eckart (Cincinnati, OH/Roger Bacon) tallied his first career goal, taking a crossing pass from sophomore Roman Kirschner (Opava, Czach Republic/Mendel's Grammar School) and put it in the back of the net.
• Senior Chris Bourque (Batavia, OH/Batavia) finished with nine saves on 11 shots in the loss.
• Offensively, Wilmington woke up in the second half. After getting outshot 14-2 over the first 45 minutes, WC managed seven shots in the final 45 minutes.
• The Fightin' Quakers are now 1-10 in their last 11 games away from home, according to head coach Bud Lewis.

COACHES COMMENTS

• "I was very disappointed in how we started the game," said Lewis. "The first time they played a long ball, we defended it poorly. We are making too many mistakes at critical moments of the game. Whether it's a bad pass or a bad trap, it's keeping us from getting on top. We have to be better to start games; we can't continue to spot teams goals."
• "Chris Bourque did a phenomenal job of keeping the game 2-nil," said Lewis. "It was one of the best goalkeeping performances I have seen."

Wilmington (1-3) returns to the pitch 1 p.m. Saturday to play Kalamazoo in the third game of the Ohio Northern Invitational.
