Capital Defeats Men's Lacrosse

BEXLEY, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team (2-13, 0-7) fell to the Capital University Comets (7-7, 4-3) by a final score of 25-1 on Wednesday evening.

Capital kept freshman goalkeeper Cody Everly busy in the first half as the Comets let loose 40 total shots. The Quakers weathered the first quarter well and trailed 6-0 entering the second quarter. Gabe Shaw for the Quakers scored with five minutes to go in the second quarter, this is his second goal of the season. Garrett Murrell was credited with the assist, his second of the season. At the half, the Quakers would trail the Comets 14-1.

Wilmington was unable to close the gap in the second half and would be defeated by a final score of 25-1. Capital held a clear advantage in total shots, outshooting the Quakers by a tally of 66-9. Capital won 24 of a possible 29 face-offs.

Up next, the Baldwin Wallace University Yellow Jackets travel to Wilmington on Saturday. First face-off is slated for 1 pm.
