WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team hosts Wabash College in the final home game of 2019 for the Fightin' Quakers on Wednesday. First faceoff from Williams Stadium is slated for 7 p.m.
The Teams: Wilmington and Wabash. The Fightin' Quakers currently hold a 0-1 record after opening the season with a close 13-11 loss to Bethany College on the road. The Little Giants are 1-1 at the moment having most recently beaten Adrian College 14-13 on their home ground.
The Coaches: Jeff Arneson is in his second year leading the Wilmington men's lacrosse program. Prior to leading the Quakers to a 5-9 record last season, Arneson, a Wilmington High School alumnus, spent six seasons as head coach at Thiel College (Pennsylvania). Tim O'Shea, previously head coach at the Bishop Chatard High School, enters his first season with the Little Giants.
The players: Wilmington will need to replace its career scoring leading in Jhordan Lang and career faceoff leader in Tanner Diment as both graduated the program last year. The Quaker trio of Andrew Miller, Connor Judge and Zac Chucta look to fill that void. All three recorded over 20 points last season including Judge who scored 25 goals while Chucta dished out 12 assists. The trio also combined for a total of 9 goals in the first game of the 2019 season against Bethany. The Quakers have to be on the lookout for Little Giants' Tucker Dixon who recorded 30 goals and eight assists in 15 games last season.
Series History: Wilmington is 2-2 in program history against Wabash College with the last matchup resulting in a 19-6 loss for the Quakers at Wabash on February 25, 2018.
