Seniors Lead Men's Lacrosse to 16-9 Win Over Muskingum

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team took on Muskingum this afternoon and won a thrilling game 16-9. This game was Wilmington's last of the season and senior day for three Quakers.

The first half was vital for the Quakers to seal the win. Wilmington came out of the gates in the first 19 seconds of the game with a score from Jhordan Lang. The Quakers went on to score two additional goals before the Muskies were able to answer. Wilmington and Muskingum traded goals at the end of the first quarter to put the Quakers up 6-3. Lang recorded another hat trick on the season, this time accomplishing the task all in the first quarter.

In the second, the Quakers held Muskingum scoreless allowing just three shots on goal. Wilmington opened up the quarter with a score from Connor Judge followed up by two more goals from Lang. Andrew Miller finished off the quarter scoring and capping off a great second quarter. Quakers took a 10-3 lead at the half.

The second half was a balanced scoring attack from Wilmington and Muskingum. In the third, the Muskies outscored the Quakers 4-3 but were unable to make a significant impact on the score differential. Zac Chucta scored the first goal of the quarter, while Judge and Mike Smith also netted goals. Leading 13-7 entering the fourth, the Quakers were able to add on to their totals with two scores coming from Lang and one from Judge.

Lang recorded seven goals, while Miller and Judge also recorded hat tricks. Chucta and Smith totaled three goals together. Tanner Diment picked up 19 ground balls and goalie, Jake Ladenforf recorded 11 saves on 20 shots faced.

Wilmington finishes its season with a 5-9 overall record going 2-6 in OAC play.
