Men's Lacrosse Hosts Heidelberg Friday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team continues Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play on Friday when Heidelberg University comes to Williams Stadium for a 6 p.m. contest.

The Teams: Wilmington and Heidelberg. The Fightin' Quakers are 3-7 overall and still looking for their first OAC victory after a 25-3 loss at John Carroll University last Saturday. The Student-Princes are 7-5 overall and 1-3 in the OAC after a 14-3 loss to Ohio Northern University on Wednesday.

The Coaches: Jeff Arneson is in his first season as head coach of the Wilmington men's lacrosse program. Arneson comes to Wilmington from a seven-year stint as a coach from Thiel College including six years as the head coach. While at Thiel, Coach Arneson took the team from a 2-12 record in his first year to a 10-5 record in 2015. In 2014, Arneson coached the Player of the Year in the President's Athletic Conference (PAC) while also winning coach of the year. Bill Schmoldt began the Heidelberg men's lacrosse program three years ago.

The Players: Jhordan Lang is Wilmington's go-to offensive threat as the senior leads the team in goals (29), assists (10) and points (39). Connor Judge and Andrew Miller have also netted over 10 goals for the Quakers while Tanner Diment has picked up 104 ground balls and is 151-for-236 in the face-off circle. Matt Wernerspach and Nick Selfridge have both scored over 30 goals for Heidelberg.

Last Time Around: Wilmington claimed a 13-7 victory at Heidelberg on April 15, 2017.
