Men's Lacrosse Hosts Mount Union Sunday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team will play host to Mount Union Sunday in the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) opener for both teams. The game is scheduled to start at 1 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington will be looking to follow up the last game's performance in which the Quakers dropped 20 goals at Mount St. Joseph University. Mount Union will be looking to bounce back after a tight overtime 9-8 loss to Grove City College.

The Coaches: Jeff Arneson is in his first season as head coach of the Wilmington men's lacrosse program. Arneson comes to Wilmington from a seven-year stint as a coach from Thiel College including six years as the head coach. While at Thiel, Coach Arneson took the team from a 2-12 record in his first year to a 10-5 record in 2015. In 2014, Arneson coached the Player of the Year in the President's Athletic Conference (PAC) while also winning coach of the year.Brian Stewart is in his fifth season as head men's lacrosse coach at the University of Mount Union. In his first three seasons, he has led the Purple Raiders to 33 wins and a second place finish in the Ohio Athletic Conference's inaugural season of 2014.

The Players: Wilmington is led by the trio of Jhordan Lang, Andrew Miller and Connor Judge offensively this year. Lang has scored 24 goals, while Miller and Judge have combined for 25 goals. Defensively, Tanner Diment and Zac Chucta have led the way for the Fightin' Quakers. Together, Diment and Chucta have totaled 115 ground balls and caused six turnovers. Michael Aquaviva and Eric Wathen have chipped in with their team-high 10 caused turnovers each. In goal for the Quakers, is Jake Ladendorf who has 60 saves on the season with a record of 3-3. Mount Union is led by three players offensively, Brent Greenberg, Alek Kungle, and Seamus McCartin. Combined, the trio has totaled 25 goals on the season. The defense is led by Cole Abid who has a team-high nine caused turnovers on the year. In goal, Jake Krone has started all seven games totaling 73 saves.
