Men's Lacrosse Falls to Ferrum 20-4

WILMINGTON, OHIO - The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team struggled in a lopsided contest against Ferrum College losing 20-4. Wilmington completes the four-game road stretch against William Peace on Wednesday, March 14. The game is scheduled to start at 5 p.m.

Senior Jhordan Lang scored his goal 100 this evening against Ferrum College.  In his career, Lang has played in 49 career games, scored 100 goals and assisted on 46. In Lang's junior season he totalled a career high in goals with 44.

Wilmington started slowly in the first half of today's game. The Panthers of Ferrum College jumped on the Quakers early scoring 11 goals in the first. Jhordan Lang was able to net the first Quaker goal in the first quarter, but Jadon Flannery was the only other Fightin' Quaker to score in the half. Ferrum led Wilmington by a score of 11-2 at the end of the second quarter.

Penalties and turnovers plagued the Quakers for a majority of the game. On the evening, Wilmington turned the ball over a total of 28 times to just seven turnovers from the Panthers. To begin the third quarter, Lang came out of the gates quick with another goal in the first two minutes of the quarter. From then on, the Quakers were held scoreless the rest of the quarter while the Panthers were able to notch five additional goals. Ferrum continued the defensive pressure the entire fourth quarter ultimately leading the way to a victory for the Panthers.

Wilmington was led offensively, by Lang scoring two goals on eight shots. Flannery and Kyle Dimick added the other two goals for the Quakers. Defensively, Tanner Diment picked up 12 ground balls and went 17-of-29 on face-offs.

Wilmington (1-2) will travel to William Peace on Wednesday, March 14. The game will start at 5 p.m.
