MLAX falls to Hanover, 16-8

HANOVER, IN – The Wilmington College men's lacrosse team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to Hanover Wednesday, 16-8, at Alumni Stadium.

Junior Alexander Gossard (Galloway, OH/Hilliard Bradley) and freshman Devon Maki (Pickerington, OH/Central) each tallied three goals for the Fightin' Quakers. Gossard's third goal, the first of the second, pulled Wilmington to within two (7-5). However, Hanover scored nine of the final 12 markers to record the victory.

Gossard was proficient with his shot, scoring three times on just four attempts. Junior Jalen Jackson (Hilliard, OH/Bradley) added three assists and a goal.

Wilmington (2-1) returns to Williams Stadium 2 p.m. Saturday to play the Trine Thunder.
