Jackson tallied five points in loss

Sophomore Jalen Jackson recorded five points as the Wilmington College men's lacrosse team wrapped up the 2014 season with an 18-6 loss to John Carroll Saturday at Williams Stadium in Ohio Athletic Conference action.

The Fightin' Quakers finish the season 4-11 overall, 0-5 in the OAC.

After neither team were able to tally a goal in the first period, the Blue Streaks opened the second with four straight goals en route to scoring eight of the 10 goals in the period.

Jackson (Hilliard, OH/Bradley) scored the final goal of the period, and then kicked off the scoring in the third period with another unassisted goal. However, it would be the final goal of the period for WC as John Carroll strung together seven straight goals. They continued the string by tacking on two more to start the fourth period.

Jackson finished with four goals and one assist to end the season with an OAC-high 46 assists. He also leads the league with 69 points.

Freshmen Camden Doherty (Westerville, OH/South) and Nick Perry (Carmel, IN/Carmel) added unassisted goals for the Fightin' Quakers.

Both teams were relatively successful on clears as Wilmington 17-for-21 and John Carroll 22-of-28. However, the Blue Streaks were more successful in converting the man-up opportunities going 4-for-4, while Wilmington was 0-for-6.

Freshman Paul Koerbel (Maineville, OH/Kings) registered seven saves for Wilmington.
