Jackson scores two, assists on two

WESTERVILLE – Sophomore Jalen Jackson had a hand in all four goals as the Wilmington College men's lacrosse team fell to Otterbein, 15-4, Wednesday in Ohio Athletic Conference action at Memorial Stadium.

Jackson (Hilliard, OH/Bradley) tallied two goals and two assists, giving him a league-high 47 assists on the season. He also leads the league with 68 points.

Freshman Reid Delaney (Wooster, OH/Wooster) was the recipient of both Jackson's assists.

Otterbein scored the first five goals of the game, and looked destined to take a 5-0 lead after the first period. But, Jackson scored as time expired in the period.

The two teams traded goals to start the second period, however, the Cardinals capped the half by scoring four straight – taking a 10-2 lead into halftime.

Delaney opened the scoring in the third period with 10:01 left, and Otterbein countered at 2:36. It started a run of five straight goals for the Cardinals.

Jackson ended the scoring with a goal with 35 seconds remaining.

Freshman Paul Koerbel (Maineville, OH/Kings) recorded 14 saves for the Fightin' Quakers.

Wilmington (4-10 overall, 0-4 OAC) caps the season noon Saturday with a home game against John Carroll.
