K.C. Hunt, the second-winningest coach in program history, enters his 15th season as head coach of the Wilmington College men’s basketball program in 2021-22.

Hunt, who is also the second-longest tenured coach in program history, has led the Fightin’ Quakers to over 170 victories and the College’s only two berths in the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Tournament via winning the 2010 and 2014 Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament titles.  Hunt was named the Great Lakes Regional Coach of the Year in 2010 for guided the Quakers to a school-record 22 victories and the program’s first and only NCAA Division III Tournament game, a 78-74 victory over Lycoming College.

Following the 2018-19 season that saw Wilmington come within a game of the program's first ever OAC regular season championship, Hunt was named OAC Coach of the Year. The Quakers, who were ranked in the region for the majority of the season, finished the year 17-8 overall.

Hunt has led Wilmington to seven winning campaigns along with 12 trips to the OAC Tournament with an 11-11 record. In addition, the Quakers have won more OAC regular season games then they have lost in Hunt’s tenure.

Two Quakers, Heard II and Tyler White, have garnered All-American honors under Hunt’s tutelage. Heard II earned Second Team All-American honors from the National Association of Basketball Coaches as well as Fourth Team recognition from D3Hoops.com in 2014. Heard II also received the OAC’s Dick Reynolds Award as the conference’s most valuable player that season. Hunt has also coached 21 All-OAC honorees and six of the program’s 1,000-point scorers.

Hunt played collegiate basketball at Wichita State University, and finished his career in the top 10 all-time in both steals and assists.

A 1995 graduate of The Ohio State University, Hunt coached at St. Lawrence University as well as Dublin Coffman High School and Perry High School prior to joining Wilmington’s staff as an assistant coach in 2004.
