WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team opens postseason play on Tuesday by hosting Baldwin Wallace University (BW) in an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament quarterfinal at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Teams: Wilmington and BW. The Fightin' Quakers finished their 2018-19 regular season with a 17-7 overall record and a 13-5 mark in OAC play, tying the best conference mark since Wilmington joined the OAC prior to the 2000-01 season. The Yellow Jackets completed their regular season 17-8 overall and 11-7 in league play.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 12th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Tom Heil, formerly the head coach at Defiance College, is in his fourth season as BW's head coach and has produced four consecutive winning seasons during that span.

The Players: A trio of Quakers – DaeShawn Jackson, Kevin Lewis and Will Patrick – all score in double figures including Jackson as the leader at 15.0 points per game. Lewis, the team's leader in rebounding at 5.8 boards per game, scores 14.3 points per game along with stealing two passes per contest, one of the top marks in the OAC in that category. Patrick contributes over a dozen points off the bench. Jay Battle (17.3 points per game) and Michael Quiring (10.4 points per game) are the two Yellow Jackets who average double figures in scoring. Drew Sova leads BW in the rebounding department at 8.1 boards per contest.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game - Wilmington 79.8, BW 78.9; opponents points per game - Wilmington 75.6, BW 71.5; field goal percentage - Wilmington 43.3, BW 45.2; three point percentage - Wilmington 36.3, BW 36.5; free throw percentage - Wilmington 70.5, BW 64.6; rebounds per game - Wilmington 36.2, BW 37.8; assist-to-turnover ratio - Wilmington 1.00, BW 1.14.

Recent History: Wilmington is 18-25 against BW since joining the OAC prior to the 2000-01 season. The Quakers won both regular season meetings with the Yellow Jackets by a combined nine points. More information on the series history can be viewed at the link above.
