Men's Basketball Faces Otterbein on the Road Wednesday

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team travels to Otterbein University for a 7 p.m. Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest at the Rike Center on Wednesday.

The Teams: Wilmington and Otterbein. The Fightin' Quakers are 7-5 overall and 3-3 in the OAC after defeating John Carroll University (JCU) 99-84 in the best offensive performance of the season to date on Saturday. The Cardinals stand at 4-9 on the year and 1-5 in conference play after dropping a 91-74 decision at Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 12th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Brian Oilar, formerly an assistant at DePauw University, is in his fourth season as Otterbein's head coach.

The Players: Both DaeShawn Jackson and Kevin Lewis lead Wilmington in scoring at 16.4 and 16.0 points per game respectively. Will Patrick, who scored a season-high 17 points in the Quakers' win over JCU on Saturday, also scores in double figures for the Quakers. Lewis, the OAC leader in steals, averages 2.8 steals and 6.0 rebounds per game, both team highs for Wilmington. Payton Smith and Jackson both dish out over two assists per contest. Otterbein also has a trio of Cardinals – Jay Joseph, Maurice Beavers and Justin Carter – that score in double figures including Joseph who leads the team in scoring (15.5 points per game) and rebounding (6.8 boards per contest).
