WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College men's basketball team continues Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play against the Polar Bears of Ohio Northern University (ONU) on Wednesday evening. Tip-off from Hermann Court is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and ONU. The Fightin' Quakers stand at 4-1 overall and 1-0 in OAC play after an 89-81 win at Heidelberg University on Saturday. The Polar Bears are an even 3-3 on the year after dropping their OAC opener 80-70 at home to the University of Mount Union.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 12th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Rich Bensman is in his third season as ONU's head men's basketball coach. The Polar Bears finished as runner-up in the 2018 OAC Tournament last season.

The Players: Three Wilmington individuals - Kevin Lewis, DaeShawn Jackson and Will Patrick - all score in double figures with Lewis leading the team at 18.0 points per game. Lewis also leads the squad in rebounding at 7.2 boards per contest while Abdul Kanu, Colin Myers and Jeffery Mansfield all grab over four rebounds per game. Payton Smith dishes out a team high 3.2 assists per contest. Ryan Bruns, an All-American and OAC Player of the year last season, averages 22.8 points, 8.3 rebounds and 1.8 blocks per game for the Polar Bears.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game - Wilmington 78.6, ONU 74.8; opponents points per game - Wilmington 70.0, ONU 69.0; field goal percentage - Wilmington 41.7, ONU 46.3; three point percentage - Wilmington 36.9, ONU 35.6; free throw percentage - Wilmington 65.6, ONU 72.7; rebounds per game - Wilmington 41.4, ONU 39.2; assist-to-turnover ratio - Wilmington 0.88, ONU 0.98.

Recent History: Wilmington is 15-21 against ONU since joining the OAC prior to the 2000-01 season. The Quakers bested the Polar Bears 95-77 in last year's meeting at Hermann Court. More information on the series history can be viewed at the link above.
