OAC TOURNAMENT HISTORY

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's basketball team travels to Marietta College for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Tournament quarterfinal round contest on Tuesday evening. Tip-off from Marietta's Ban Johnson Arena is scheduled for 8 p.m.

*Marietta's women basketball team is also hosting a quarterfinal round game that evening. There is a chance tip-off of the Wilmington vs. Marietta game will be pushed back as all teams in the OAC Tournament are given 30 minutes of warmup time.

The Teams: Wilmington and Marietta. The Fightin' Quakers finished the regular season 11-13 overall and 7-11 in OAC play. The Pioneers ended their regular season campaign with a 20-5 overall record and a 14-4 mark in conference play. Marietta shared the OAC regular season crown with John Carroll University.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt is in his 11th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Jon VanderWal, also in his 11th season at Marietta, has led the Pioneers to five NCAA Division III Tournament berths in the last seven seasons. He was named the NCAA Division III Glenn Robinson National Coach of the Year in 2015.

The Players: Christian Jones (19.2 points per game), Nathan Scott (12.3 points per game) and Will Patrick (12.0 points per game) all score in double figures for Wilmington offensively. Scott teams up with Andrew Russell to grab four rebounds per contest each while D.J. Iles dishes out over three assists per game. All five Pioneer starters score in double figures including Dillon Young at 14.2 points per game. Avery Williams, who scores 11.6 points per contest, is the Pioneers' leading rebounded at 7.7 boards per game.

Tale of the Tape: Points per game – Wilmington 82.2, Marietta 82.9; opponents' points per game – Wilmington 82.3, Marietta 72.3; field goal percentage – Wilmington 42.8, Marietta 47.8; three-point percentage – Wilmington 36.4, Marietta 39.5; free throw percentage – Wilmington 80.0, Marietta 74.5; rebounds per game – Wilmington 31.5, Marietta 38.6, assist-to-turnover ratio – Wilmington 1.07, Marietta 1.20.

Matchups This Season: Marietta swept the regular season series, winning 80-65 at home and 100-71 at Fred Raizk Arena .

Recent History: Wilmington is 8-20 against Marietta in the last decade. The Pioneers have won the last nine meetings including an 80-65 win at Ban Johnson Arena earlier this season.  Wilmington's last victory at Marietta came in a 91-82 victory on Feb. 27, 2014.
