Men's Basketball Hosts Heidelberg on Saturday

WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College men's basketball team continues Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) play on Saturday when Heidelberg University comes to Hermann Court for a 2 p.m. contest.

The Teams: Wilmington and Heidelberg. The Fightin' Quakers are 3-4 overall and looking to snap a two-game OAC skid after falling 92-83 at Ohio Northern University on Wednesday evening. The Student Princes are 3-2 overall and won their OAC opener 99-85 against Otterbein University last weekend.

The Coaches: K.C. Hunt enters his 11th season as head coach of Wilmington's men's basketball program. Hunt, who has coached two All-Americans and seven of the school's 1,000-point scorers, led the Quakers to OAC Tournament titles in 2010 and 2014. He garnered Great Lakes Region Coach of the Year honors for guiding Wilmington to OAC Tournament title and a win in the NCAA Division III Tournament in 2010. Andy Bucheit, a 2005 Wittenberg University graduate, is in his fifth season has Heidelberg's head coach.

The Players: Christian Jones leads Wilmington offensively as the Hamilton, Ohio, native averages 19.0 points per game. Fellow senior Will Patrick is the other Quaker to average double figures in scoring at 11.1 points per contest. Rebounding is a team effort for Wilmington as seven players average at last three boards per contest. Heidelberg features four individuals who score over 10 points per game including Kiere Bennie (17.2 points per game) and Chris Moxley (16.0 points per game). Myron Prewitt grabs nearly seven rebounds per game.

Newest Member of 1,000-Point Club: Christian Jones recently crossed the 1,000-point career scoring plateau with his 17 points against Mount Union on Saturday. He became the program's 27th individual to score over 1,000 career points.

Recent History: Wilmington is 11-12 against Heidelberg in the last decade. The Student Princes have won the last five matchups including a 103-101 overtime victory at Fred Raizk Arena last season.
