@DubC_MensHoops falls to Muskingum

The Wilmington College men's basketball team fell to Muskingum, 84-65, Wednesday in Ohio Athletic Conference action at the Anne C. Steele Center.

"We didn't do enough to slow them down," said Wilmington head coach K.C. Hunt. "We didn't play at our pace and didn't take the fight to them."

After sophomore Kevin Lewis (Cincinnati, OH/Clark Montessori) gave Wilmington the 25-24 lead with seven minutes remaining in the first half, Muskingum closed the half on a 19-4 run to seize control. During the spurt, Wilmington was just 1-of-8 from the field, 0-for-4 from beyond the arc, and 2-of-6 from the foul line.

Wilmington couldn't muster a run in the second half, and got as close as 10 points in the second half.

The Fightin' Quakers shot 43.9 percent (25-of-57) from the field, but enabled allowed Muskingum to shoot 61.1 percent (33-of-54). Wilmington was also outrebounded 38-22, and shot just 52.9 percent (10-of-19) from the foul line.

Junior Christian Jones (Hamilton, OH/Hamilton) with 16 points, while freshman Kameron Moore (Cincinnati, OH/Purcell Marian) added 10 points and two steals. Freshman Noah Chatman (Goodluttsville, TN/Beech) pulled down a team-high six boards with six points.

Wilmington (8-12 overall, 3-10 OAC) hosts John Carroll (12-6 overall, 9-3 OAC) 3 p.m. Saturday at Fred Raizk Arena.
