ADA – Freshman Kameron Moore scored a career-high 17 points as the Wilmington College men's basketball team fell to league-leading Ohio Northern, 86-65, Wednesday at the ONU Sports Center in Ohio Athletic Conference action.

A midseason transfer, Moore (Cincinnati, OH/Purcell Marian) went 8-of-14 from the floor and 1-of-2 from the foul line. He added two rebounds in 21 minutes of action.

The game turned as Ohio Northern opened the second half with an 18-2 run, and shot 54.3 percent (19-of-35) from the field and 50 percent (9-of-18) from beyond the arc over the final 20 minutes. The run was a continuation of the momentum seized late in the first half as the Polar Bears tallied seven of the last nine points to take a four-point halftime lead.

Ohio Northern threatened to run away with the game earlier in the first half opening up an eight-point lead, but Wilmington had a response.

Back-to-back dunks by Moore capped an 11-0 run that gave Wilmington a three-point lead with five minutes remaining in the first half. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the night.

Junior Christian Jones (Hamilton, OH/Hamilton) and sophomore Kevin Lewis (Cincinnati, OH/Clark Montessori) finished with 11 points each, while freshman Noah Chatman (Goodluttsville, TN/Beech) added 10 points and eight rebounds.

Wilmington (7-11 overall, 2-9 OAC) returns home 3 p.m. Saturday to host Mount Union (11-7 overall, 6-5 OAC). The Fightin' Quakers fell 84-79 on December 3 in Alliance.
