WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College football team hosts John Carroll University (JCU) for an Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) contest on Saturday. Kickoff from Williams Stadium is slated for 1:30 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington and JCU. The Quakers are 1-6 overall and 0-6 in OAC competition after coming up on the wrong end of a 35-33 decision against Baldwin Wallace University on Saturday. The Blue Streaks are 6-1 overall and 5-1 in the OAC after slipping by Marietta College 27-24 on Saturday.

The Coaches: Bryan Moore, a 1999 graduate of Hiram College, begins his second season leading Wilmington's football program. Moore began instilling his vision on WC last year which led to victories over Earlham College and Capital University. Previously, he spent time at both Bluffton University and Heidelberg University. Rick Finotti, formerly an assistant coach at the University of Michigan, is in his second season as JCU's head coach.

The Offense: Kyle Barrett guides the Wilmington offense as he averages over 225 yards per game through the air along with throwing for a 16 touchdowns. DJ Chambers leads the rushing effort with 395 yards for an average of 68.5 yards per contest. Ace Taylor and Luke Richardson have been Barrett's top two receiving threats as Taylor averages 62.3 receiving yards per game while Richardson has caught seven touchdown passes. Anthony Moeglin quarterbacks the JCU offense and averages 189.4 yards per game through the air along with 10 touchdown passes. Michael Canganelli averages just over 100 yards per game on the ground while a trio of Blue Streak running backs – Sam Kukura, Devin Limerick and Moeglin – has rushed for over 200 yards on the season. Darrin Davis leads the receiving core with 22 catches.

The Defense: Tre'Quez Parks leads Wilmington defensively with 59 tackles for an average of 8.4 per contest. Weston Trampler, who has 31 tackles on the season, leads the team with 4.5 sacks while Parks Dusty Lykins, Tywon Berry, Zach Zurface and Aaron Volle all have interceptions for the Quakers. Royon Washington, Kyle Ackley, Tavion Bryant and Parris Weathersby all join Parks with over 30 tackles. Chad Stalnaker had 42 tackles for the JCU defense while Jimmy Thomas has recorded 10.5 tackles for loss including nine sacks. Tyshawn Jones has three interceptions for the Blue Streaks.
