Creditt responsible for 90 percent of offense

Junior quarterback Luke Creditt accounted for 90 percent of Wilmington's offense as the Fightin' Quakers lost to Heidelberg, 59-3, Saturday in Ohio Athletic Conference action on Townsend Field in Williams Stadium.

"He is the most important guy on offense because he has the ball every single time," said Wilmington head coach Stacey Hairston. "He fights hard. We have to do a better job of protecting him, and when he does deliver the ball; our receivers have the catch the ball. That's not Heidelberg; that is us."

Creditt (Wilmington, OH/Waynesville) was 14-of-25 for 111 yards and 56 yards rushing on 13 carries. Ten different players recorded a catch as junior Tim Murphy (Columbus, OH/Grandeview Heights) led the team with four catches for 40 yards.

Freshman Marcus Tyler (Lexington, KY/Henry Clay) added three receptions for 28 yards, his first three career catches.

Heidelberg struck fast in all of their scoring drives as the longest march lasted just 4:04 with three scoring drive lasting less than one minute.

Senior Grant Brown (Stoutsville, OH/Amanda Clearcreek) recorded WC's lone points, a 37-yard field goal in the second quarter.

Junior C.J. Thompson (Cincinnati, OH/Northwest) finished with a team-high 10 tackles, while junior Sam Tedtman (Louisville, KY/Atherton) added eight tackles. In his first career start, freshman Jadon Flannery (Clarksville, OH/Clinton-Massie) tallied seven tackles. Sophomore Jay Higgins (Hollywood, FL/Cooper City) and freshman Keshawn Johnson-Sanders (Lexington, KY/Henry Clay) both had a career-high seven stops.

Wilmington (0-8 overall, 0-7 OAC) travels to Ada for an OAC game with Ohio Northern 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
