Football allows 54 straight points in loss

After taking their first drive for a touchdown, it was tough sledding for the Wilmington College football team as they allowed 54 consecutive points in falling to Baldwin Wallace, 54-7, Saturday at Williams Stadium.

Senior quarterback Brandon Arehart capped a 10-play, 63-yard opening drive with a 12-yard touchdown pass to freshman Tyler Tarnowski for Wilmington's only score of the game. Arehart finished the game 17-of-36 for 169 yards, one touchdown, and one interception.

Sophomore receiver Jeremy Duncan, who entered the game as the only OAC receiver averaging more than 100 yards per game, finished with six receptions for 94 yards.

On the ground, freshman Zak Kruer led the team with 54 yards on 17 carries. He added five catches for 26 yards. Defensively, the team's leading tackler, sophomore Tarrell Starckey recorded nine stops, while sophomore Nick Williams added eight tackles and a sack.

Wilmington (0-6 overall, 0-5 OAC) travels to winless Marietta 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
