Baseball Announces 2019 Schedule

WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College baseball team has released its schedule for the upcoming 2019 season this spring. The Fightin' Quakers begin the year on Feb. 23 and conclude the regular season on May 4.

The Quakers open with a set of three games in Carbondale, Illinois, against North Central College, Blackburn College and Dallas College on Feb. 23-24. Wilmington then travels to Richmond, Indiana, for a four-game Quaker Bowl Rivalry series with Earlham College on March 2-3 followed by a single-game at Denison University on March 9 followed by a two-game series with Ferrum College (Virginia) on March 10-11.

The home-opener is scheduled for March 13 against Ivy Tech-Fort Wayne. Wilmington will also host defending Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) champions Frnaklin College for a doubleheader on March 16 before facing the Grizzlies in a road contest the following day.

"Our non-conference schedule will always be grewared towards gaining confident going into our conference season as well as competing aginast possible regionally-ranked teams," First-Year Head Baseball Coach Tony Vittorio said.

Other non-conference games sprinkled into the conference season include home-and-home series' with Mount St. Joseph University and Wittenberg University as well as doubleheaders vs. Hanover College and at Oberlin College.

Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) competition kicks off for Wilmington on March 23 with a doubleheader against Muskingum University. The Quakers will then play three of their next four series on the road before returning to Tewksbury-Delaney Field for series against Capital University on April 16 and the University of Mount Union on April 19.

Wilmington's regular season concludes with a road series at Heidelberg University on April 27 and a home series with Ohio Northern University on May 4.
