WILMINGTON, Ohio – The Wilmington College Baseball team faces a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) foes over the next couple of days. The Fightin' Quakers will host Marietta College on Sunday and travel to the University of Moutn Union on Monday. Both doubleheaders are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

The Teams: Wilmington, Mount Union and Marietta. The Fightin' Quakers sit at 9-19 overall this season and 1-9 in the OAC after splitting a series with Capital University on Friday. The Pioneers are 20-7 overall and sit atop the OAC standings with an 8-2 record while Mount Union is sitting at 14-10 so far this season and 5-5 in conference play as it split with Heidelberg University this past Friday.

The Coaches: Dan Cleaver is in his sixth season with the Quakers baseball team including the previous four seasons have been as head coach. Brian Brewer is in his 15th season has head coach at Marietta and has led the Pioneers to three national championships including back-to-back titles in 2011 and 2012. Paul Hesse is in his 22nd season as head baseball coach at Mount Union and is the winningest coach in program history.

Hitters to Watch: Nick Silvis leads the Fightin' Quakers hitting a .320 average, as well as picking up the most hits on the team with 32 so far this season as well as his 11 RBIs and 13 walks. Jake Hyatt, hitting .260 on the season leads the team in RBIs with 21 this season as well as collecting three home runs and 11 walks. Mike Hale, the two-time reigning OAC Hitter of the Week, leads the Pioneers offensively with 36 RBIs, five home runs and a .336 batting average. Billy Goodall is hitting .321 for the Purple Raiders as well as a team high 16 walks and providing the team with a home run and 16 RBIs. Goodall is a threat on the base paths as he leads his team with nine stolen bases this season. 

Pitchers to Watch: Joey Hollback and Jared Ferenchak have been the go to for coach Cleaver as they have been the most effective of starters for the Quakers. Hollback leads the Quakers with 24 strikeouts through his 33.2 innings pitched with a 5.08 ERA. Ferenchak is 2-4 this season through his 26.2 innings this season with his ERA sitting at 4.05. David Stover is 7-1 with a 2.23 ERA for Marietta's pitching staff. Senior Noah Skladan leads the Purple Raiders with his 2.74 ERA through his 42.2 innings pitched. Skladan has started in seven games this season and is 4-2 through those games.
