Big goal hauls have been the norm for the John Carroll University women's lacrosse team of late.

John Carroll matched its program-best for highest goal total in a 22-2 win over Wilmington on Saturday afternoon in Wilmington, Ohio. The win was the sixth-straight for JCU (8-2, 2-0 OAC) who has outscored its opponents 111-23 over this stretch. The 22 goals marked the fourth time in the last five games JCU has scored at least 20 goals.

Gina Vilsack led the way matching her season-high with six goals. Previously, the freshman netted six in a 22-4 drubbing over Defiance.

Vilsack scored the game's first goal with 26:57 remaining in the first half. The goal was set up off a feed from
Roserita DiMillo.

Wilmington's Loryn Bryson tied the scored just over two minutes later but it was all John Carroll from there.

The Blue Streaks scored the game's next 18 goals to open up a 19-1 lead with 11:11 remaining in the contest. The Blue Streaks would add three more with two from
Chelsea Jackson and a goal from
Olivia Barney over the game's final 5:45.

In addition to Vilsack, multiple goals would be scored by
Grace Curatolo (5), Jackson (5) and
Annamae Bolen (2). Jackson and Vilsack combined for four of JCU's nine assists.

Defensively
Mary Jo Murino finished with six saves on eight shots faced. DiMillo led the way with four ground balls.

John Carroll finished with a 36-9 shot advantage, an 18-7 edge on draw controls and a 17-9 advantage on ground balls.

The women's lacrosse team returns home to host Baldwin Wallace at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest will mark JCU's annual community service awareness game. The women's lacrosse team will work to make "Memories Matter" in their fight against Alzheimer's. The team will accept monetary donations for the Cleveland-area chapter of the Alzheimer's Association upon entry.
