WILMINGTON, Ohio - The Wilmington College department of athletics is pleased to recognize five individuals who will be enshrined into the College's Athletics Hall of Fame as part of Homecoming Weekend on September 17.

The 2022 class includes men's basketball's Leroy Berry (class of 1980), men's soccer's Justin Saylor (class of 2006), women's swimming's Alisha Flatter (class of 2007), women's basketball's Kortney Kin (class of 2010) and men's tennis's Joe Freudenberg (class of 2010).

"We are so proud to welcome these five former student-athletes to the Wilmington College Athletics Hall of Fame," Senior Director of Athletics Bill Wilson said. "They represent the best of the best when it comes to how they have represented themselves, not only while they were students at the College, but as citizens in their days after WC."

Berry, who earned a degree in recreation, played for Head Coach John Ferguson from 1978-80. A two-time First Team All-District and First Team All-Hoosier-Buckeye Conference selection as both a junior and a senior, Berry scored 1,090 points in three seasons and is one of 28 Fightin' Quakers to score 1,000 points in a career. A Third Team All-American at the junior college level at Allegheny Community College in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, Berry was drafted in the seventh round of the 1980 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He played one season of professional basketball in Finland before moving to Philadelphia and working as a supervisor for the city's recreation department.

A goalkeeper, he boasted a three-year record of 40-18-4 and voted the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Goalkeeper of the Year on WC's only OAC regular season championship team in 2004. That season, the Quakers finished with a 17-3-2 record and didn't surrender a goal en route to the OAC Tournament title and the league's automatic berth into the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament. There, Wilmington received a first round bye, and after defeating Wheaton College (Illinois) 2-0 in the first round at Gilhart Field, the Quakers fell to Wartburg College (Iowa) 1-0 on a late goal in the "Sweet 16". In Saylor's final season, he garnered Second Team All-OAC honors as WC once against went 7-1-1 in conference play, but fell to rival John Carroll University 2-1 in overtime in the OAC Tournament title game. He currently works as an assistant commissioner of the Colorado High School Athletic Association.

Flatter, who earned a degree in biology, was a four-year member of the women's swimming program from 2004-07 under long-time Head Coach Trip Breen. She garnered All-OAC honors a dozen times in her career including claiming the OAC title in the 200-yard backstroke at the 2006 OAC Swimming & Diving Championships. Flatter was also part of three freestyle relay teams that won OAC titles. Excellent on the pool and in the classroom, she graduated with a perfect 4.0 grade point average and was honored as a CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American in the at-large contest in 2007. Also a member of the golf team, Flatter held seven women's swimming program records at the time of her graduation.

Kin, who earned a degree in business administration, was a four-year member of the women's basketball program from 2006-10 under long-time Head Coach Jerry Scheve. A two-time All-American, Kin is fifth all-time in program history in scoring with 1,551 points. Lady Quaker Basketball (LQB) achieved a 80-32 record including an OAC Championship in 2006-07 and two NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament appearances during Kin's career. During her freshman season, Kin played a key role in WC's 25-5 overall record, 15-3 mark in conference games and an OAC Tournament title. LQB won its opening-round game 76-54 against Oglethorpe University (Georgia) before falling in the second round. The very next year, Kin and the Quakers returned to the NCAA Tournament, but lost by a single point (73-72) to Washington University in St. Louis. A three-time All-OAC honoree including garnering First Team recognition as both a junior and senior, Kin, who averaged just shy of 20 points per game as a senior and holds the record for points in a single game (45), was recently inducted into the Wyandot County Sports Hall of Fame.
