Over the next five days, the Wilmington College Athletic Communications department will be releasing articles about the 2016 Hall of Fame Class that will be inducted during Saturday's Hall of Fame brunch.
BRANDON TISDALE, Class of 2005, almost didn't make it to Wilmington College. But, once he stepped foot on the Clinton County campus, his impact was immediate.
He established the school's single-season record, which still stands, with 14.5 sacks in 2001, his freshman season. His 44 career sacks and 89.5 tackles for loss are both school records.
Tisdale, however, is first to recognize his exploits were partially a result of his teammates.
"As a freshmen, we had Nick (Nicastro) and (Greg) Liggens, so they didn't really pay much attention to me," said Tisdale. "Mark Lane should be going into the Hall as well, if it wasn't for him taking all the double teams, I wouldn't have had the stats I accumulated."
He was a two-time All-American following the 2003 and 2004 seasons, and was a four-time All-OAC honoree.
Tisdale transferred from Central State University, where they didn't have a football team. He thought his playing days were over. Then a call to his dorm changed his dreams.
"That was the first time in a long time I wasn't playing, and I missed it," said Tisdale. "Then, I got a call from Coach (Adam) Howard."
And the rest was history.
Tisdale is currently the General Manager at Dayton Frozen Solutions, and he lives in Xenia with his girlfriend, Jeanine.
