After releasing the Wilmington College Top 30 in segments of five, the Wilmington College Athletic Communications department has started releasing the Top 10 individually.
More than 100 people took time to vote in the poll, and here are the results.
#3 Mackenzie Campbell (Women's Basketball)
The only sophomore in the top 10, Campbell had an amazing freshman year for the women's basketball team.
"Mackenzie had a very good freshman year, and she is only going to get better," said Wilmington head coach Jerry Scheve. "She is an extremely hard worker who is not going to be satisfied with what she has accomplished, either individually or as part of a team. She was a high school post player, who transitioned into a very good wing for us last season. With that year of experience, I look for her to take another big step forward this season.
She was named a freshman All-American by DIII News, and was the Freshman of the Year in the Ohio Athletic Conference. Campbell was also named second team All-OAC after finishing third in the OAC with 14.9 points per game, while shooting 49.5 percent from the field.
Campbell's shooting percentage led all perimeter players, and was third overall. She finished with 401 points, which are the most by any Wilmington freshman in the school's NCAA-era. Campbell led all OAC freshmen, and was second on the team, with 6.4 rebounds.
